MY STORY
Born in Kiandutu Slum, Thika, I attended Garissa Road Primary, Gatumaini Primary, and Thika High before pursuing software engineering at Kisii University. After graduation, I navigated startups and secured a role at a top Kenyan tech firm. Though professionally stable since 2016, my success feels hollow. Every day, I see peers left behind—youth trapped in cycles of poverty, crime, and hopelessness.
This disconnect led me to ask: How can success matter if it doesn’t lift others up?
What can we do to change this narrative?
THE CHALLENGE
Glaring statistics
In Kenya, 8.5% (KNBS, 2023) of slum youth drop out of school. Without purpose, they become statistics—not leaders. But what if we could rewrite this story?
Broken families put youth at risk of dropping out, crime, and drug addiction.
Youth unemployment leads to poverty, and crime. 
Empowering purpose-driven leaders can transform communities and build a brighter future for Kenya.
THE SOLUTION
Here’s how we’re rewriting it.
Purpose-Driven Leadership
By empowering one leader, we ignite a chain reaction. Each mentor guides four youths, who then strengthen families and communities. 
This is not idealism—it’s a proven model. Here’s how we do it. 
MIZIZI PROGRAM
Mizizi is a 10-week practical discipleship program focused on helping youths connect with God, their purpose, and others. Through the nurture of leadership and creative gifts, participants grow in their faith. I envision Mizizi graduates equally discipling other youths through the program. 80% of participants report renewed purpose.
